What is Walrus Protocol?
Walrus Protocol is a decentralized storage protocol aimed at providing an efficient solution for storing large amounts of \
data.
Walrus stores and delivers raw data and media files, like videos, images and PDF's without sacraficing performance or
accessibility.
The protocol is very secure and is build on the Sui network.
Walrus is a part of Mysten Labs. It is the same team behind SUI. More and more customers running their project on Walrus network.
Walrus is one of the most promising projects on the SUI network for 2025.
Walrus has launched the $WAL token on Sui network.
Their users are rewarded with a very big airdrop for using the tesnet and being active in the Sui ecosystem.
Walrus Protocol has confirmed there will be more airdrops on mainnet.
In total there is 10% of the total supply reserverd for airdrops. The first airdrop was 4%, so there is still 6% left.
Follow the guide below to get maximal eligible for the airdrop on Walrus Protocol.
Quick Guide
| 1 | Download the Sui Wallet. Create a new wallet if you don't have a Sui wallet yet. Save your backup phrase somewhere safe. Go to Wallet settings, click on Network and select Testnet. |

| 2 | If you don't have SUi tokens in your Sui wallet yet, you can bridge from another chain to your Sui wallet via the Sui Bridge or go to an Exchange buy some Sui and send it to your Sui wallet address. | |
| 3 | Go to a dexes, click on Choose chain and choose Sui. Click on the preferred Dex. Connect your Sui wallet and swap sui for Wal tokens. Keep always at least 2 Sui in your wallet for gas for the transactions. |

| 4 | Go to the Walrus Staking website,
connect your Sui wallet and click on Stake at your preferred validator. Less commission is more rewards, so choose a validator with less commision, like Mysten Labs 0. |

| 5 | Go to the Winterwalrus website, connect your Sui wallet
and click Stake. Stake $WAL tokens and you will get wWAL in your wallet. Just keep them in your wallet. You will now earn WAL and SNOW tokens and it will count to be eligible for the Walrus airdrop. |

| 6 | Be active in the Sui ecosystem. Do some lending, swap Sui tokens on dexes, put some liquidity in pools at Aftermath or Magma Finance (Aftermath and Magma will possible give an airdrop too)), buy NFT's, etc. | |
| 7 | Get the Walrus Explorer NFT by doing the the bonus quest at the tab Bonus tasks. | |
| 8 | Go to the Walrus Guild and complete all tasks. For most tasks you will get Study Credits. This will likely play a big role for the next airdrop. |

| 9 | Mint a SUI name on SuiNS. | |
| 10 | Use dApps that use the Walrus protocol, see all Walrus projects. | |
| 11 | Walrus is from Mysten Labs. So use the Mysten Labs products. Use the Sui Wallet, get a SuiNS name, buy a SuiPlay, etc. | |
| 12 | Do our Bonus tasks at the Bonus tasks tab. |

| 1 | You can upload your own project at Walrus storage and make it accessible for the public. This tasks is very technical. Go to the Walrus Documentation website. Follow all the steps to install Sui Cli, Site-builder and Walrus. If you having issues, use ChatGPT or CoPilot to help you or go to the Walrus Discord and ask for help. |

| 2 | Onze installed ensure you have some Sui and Wal tokens in your wallet. You need Sui tokens for gas (transactions) on the Sui network and you need Wal tokens to interact with Walrus. |

| 3 | Make a website. You can just make a simple HTML page. Just ask ChatGPT to create a HTML file. Name the file index.html |

| 4 | If using Windows, go to Start and type Powershell, click with right mouse button on
Windows Powershell ISE and open with administrator rights. Go to the folder where your index.html is located with command cd "location of index.html" |

| 5 | Upload your website with command site-builder --config "$HOME\.config\walrus\sites-config.yaml" publish .\ --epochs | |
| 6 | After the upload is finished, you will see Site object ID:. Write down the ID. | |
